05/13/2007 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Philadelphia Phillies placed first baseman Ryan Howard on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday with a left quadriceps strain.

The move, made following the Phils' 11-7 win over the Chicago Cubs, is retroactive to May 10.

Howard has not played since hitting a pinch-hit grand slam last Wednesday in a 9-3 win over Arizona. The 27-year-old and reigning NL MVP is hitting just .204 with six home runs and 23 RBI in 29 games this season.

The club recalled infielder Chris Coste from Triple-A Ottawa to fill Howard's spot on the roster.
